Choir Class C

What do we do in this choir class?

Choir Class C rehearses twice a week. Both times Choir Class C has a rehearsal and one of those times the students also have solfège- and singingclass in a small group before or after the rehearsal. 

During the choir rehearsal the children learn several songs in different languages. In Choir Class B they already developed some skills for reading notes and therefore they can learn more and more from their blue choir folder. Every week they also learn about stage presentation, so they will be confident on stage during the annual Christmas- and Summerconcert. 

Another part of the lesson is the singing lesson. In a small group they learn to use their voice in a healthy way. Learning to listen to each other and discovering the own voice is something we do according to the method of Lichtenberg. Every new discovery is a beautiful step in the development of this great, personal instrument! 

Finally there is the solfège- and theory lesson. Here the children work from Music Theory Junior of Basis, in which they learn the building blocks of music in a playful way. They show the teacher individually what they practiced from Jongleren at home. With this book and by practicing at home regularly, they learn how to read notes step by step.

In the autumn Choir Class C has a rehearsal day together with Choir Class D! Here you learn what the 'choir life' is all about. This day is a preparation for the rehearsal weekend in spring. Then Choir Class C and D will go away for the weekend to sing and play all day with professional guidance. After the weekend it is always great to see that the children come home with extra confidence and new friends. They would love to go again the next weekend!
